Day 19|Part 6

Phase 3 Day 19 導入

Part 6とは

TOEIC Part 6

Part 5

Part 5Part 6

挿入文の冒頭に「Therefore / However / In addition / As a result」等があれば、前後関係(因果・逆接・追加)を利用する。

Step 4:

(A)accept (B)have been accepting (C)will accept (D)accepted

(A)assigned (B)assigning (C)assign (D)assignment

(A)assigned

「will be ___」→ will be + 過去分詞 = 未来形受動態。

(A)while (B)although (C)throughout (D)despite

(C)throughout

「4月〜9月の期間中ずっと」という意味 → throughout(〜を通じて)
– (A)while:接続詞(S+V必要)

(A)advised (B)notified (C)aware (D)informed

(C)aware

「Please be ___ that」→ be aware that〜(〜に留意してください)は通知文の定型表現。
– 「be advised that」も使えますが、(A)advisedより(C)aware の方が「please be + 形容詞」の形として自然。
– (B)notified と(D)informed は「be notified that」「be informed that」どちらも通知の意味で使えますが、「Please be aware that」が最も汎用的かつ自然な定型表現。

(A)have (B)will have (C)had (D)would have

(A)have

(A)expect (B)are expected (C)expect to (D)intend

(A)expect

「We ___ this maintenance period to be as brief as possible」→ expect + 目的語 + to不定詞の構文(〜が〜であることを期待する)。
– (B)are expected:受動態(主語がWeなので不自然)
– (C)expect to:「We expect to this maintenance…」
– (D)intend:「intend + 目的語 + to不定詞」の構文は一般的ではない(intend to doが通常)

(A)delight (B)delightful (C)delighted (D)delighting

(C)delighted

「is ___ to announce」→ be + 形容詞 + to不定詞の構文。

(A)reflects (B)reflected (C)has reflected (D)reflecting

(A)reflects

「This milestone ___ the company’s rapid expansion」→ 主語「This milestone(このマイルストーン)」が現在の事実として「会社の成長を反映している」 → 現在形(reflects)

(A)feature (B)featured (C)featuring (D)features

(A)feature

「The new store will ___ a wide selection of」→ will + 動詞の原形feature。「feature(〜を取り揃える)」は店舗の展示品を述べるときの典型表現。

(A)invite (B)invited (C)invitation (D)inviting

(D)inviting

「inviting(魅力的な・招待を呼ぶような)」が形容詞として自然。
– (A)invite:動詞
– (B)invited:「invited ceremony」

[A]の前:「migration has been underway for three weeks」
[A]の後:「PayCore will fully replace the existing system starting October 1」

正解:(A)

[B]の前:「HR will be conducting one-on-one orientation sessions」
[B]の後:「Attendance is mandatory for staff who process expense reports or manage payroll」

Notice to Residents
Subject: Scheduled Water Supply Interruption

[A] The interruption is necessary to allow for repairs to the main distribution pipe on Harbor Road, which was identified as having a hairline fracture during a routine inspection last week.

During the outage, water will not be available to residents of buildings 12 through 18. [B] We strongly recommend filling containers in advance. The repairs are estimated to take six hours, though actual completion time may vary.

[C] If the work extends beyond 6 P.M., we will provide an updated notification via the building management app. [D] We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your understanding.

(A)We regret to inform residents that the water supply to this building will be suspended on Thursday, March 19, from 8 A.M. to 2 P.M.
(B)Residents are reminded to pay their water utility bills before the end of the month.
(C)The building management team has completed the pipe inspection with no issues found.
(D)An emergency plumbing team has been dispatched to investigate the source of the leak.

正解:(A)

[A]の後:「The interruption is necessary to allow for repairs…」と「The interruption(その中断)」という指示語が出てきます。

(A)Residents must submit a formal complaint if repairs are delayed.
(B)Portable water stations will not be set up during this period.
(C)Residents are advised to store sufficient water for drinking and cooking.

[B]の前:「water will not be available to residents of buildings 12 through 18」
[B]の後:「We strongly recommend filling containers in advance」

(A)Repairs are expected to be completed ahead of schedule.
(B)The management team apologizes for the inconvenience in advance.
(C)Residents can expect water to be restored by 2 P.M. on Thursday.
(D)Emergency contact numbers are listed on the building’s notice board.

[C]の後:「If the work extends beyond 6 P.M., we will provide an updated notification」→ 延長した場合の対応が続くため、[C]では通常の完了予定時刻を述べることで「もし延長なら〜」という条件文との対比が成立します。

[C]の後:「Please come prepared to discuss your ideas」
