なぜやるか

構文解説
as ~ as（同等比較・倍数表現・慣用表現）
as + 形容詞/副詞（原級）+ as：「〜と同じくらい…だ」（同等比較）
倍数詞 + as + 形容詞/副詞 + as：「〜のX倍…だ」（倍数表現）
as good as：「〜も同然」（ほぼ同等の状態）
The new software processes data as quickly as the previous version, despite running on older hardware.
→ 古いハードウェアで動作しているにもかかわらず、新しいソフトウェアは旧バージョンと同じくらい速くデータを処理する。The updated facility is twice as large as the original plant, allowing for a significant increase in production capacity.
→ 更新された施設は元の工場の2倍の広さで、生産能力の大幅な向上を可能にする。With the contract still unsigned, the agreement is as good as void from a legal standpoint.
→ 契約書がまだ未署名のため、合意は法的観点からは無効も同然だ。
as many as / as much as（驚き・強調の数量表現）
as many as + 数 + 可算名詞複数：「〜もの（数の多さへの驚き）」
as much as + 数 + 不可算名詞/金額：「〜もの（量・金額の多さへの驚き）」
As many as 300 participants registered for the international trade conference within the first hour of online registration.
→ 国際貿易会議にはオンライン登録開始から1時間以内に、なんと300人もの参加者が登録した。The unexpected equipment failure cost the company as much as two million dollars in lost production and emergency repairs.
→ 予期せぬ設備故障により、会社は生産損失と緊急修理で200万ドルもの損失を被った。
as ~ as possible / as ~ as S can（できるだけ〜）
Please submit the revised proposal as soon as possible so that the review committee can schedule a formal evaluation.
→ 審査委員会が正式な評価のスケジュールを組めるよう、修正提案書をできるだけ早く提出してください。The communications team was instructed to keep the official press release as concise as possible to ensure clarity for all readers.

not so much A as B / cannot so much as~
not so much A as B：「AというよりはむしろB」
cannot so much as + 動詞の原形：「〜することさえできない」
The success of the restructuring was not so much a result of reduced headcount as a result of improved operational efficiency.
→ リストラの成功は、人員削減の結果というよりはむしろ、業務効率の改善によるものだった。Due to the system outage, the support team could not so much as access the customer database during the busiest hours of the day.
→ システム障害のため、サポートチームは一日の最も忙しい時間帯に顧客データベースにアクセスすることさえできなかった。
