なぜやるか
「prevent / keep / stop A from ~ing」はPart5で頻出する動詞パターンで、fromの後に動名詞が来る点が問われます。また「look forward to ~ing（〜を楽しみにしている）」の to は前置詞であり、後ろが原形不定詞ではなく動名詞になる点は誤答の原因になりやすいポイントです。このLesson 17を終えると、妨害・価値・慣用表現における動名詞パターンを正確に使いこなせるようになります。

prevent / keep / stop / prohibit / discourage + A + from + ~ing：「Aが〜するのを妨げる・禁止する」

→ 大雪により、複数のサプライヤーが予定通りに部品を工場へ納入できなかった。
be worth ~ing / worthwhile（価値を表す表現）
be worth + ~ing（動名詞）：「〜する価値がある」（worthの後は動名詞、itなどの代名詞は不要）
The budget proposal is certainly worth reviewing before the board makes its final decision.
→ 取締役会が最終決定を下す前に、予算提案書を再確認する価値は十分ある。The insights from the pilot program are worth incorporating into the rollout plan.
→ パイロットプログラムから得た知見は、展開計画に組み込む価値がある。
It is worthwhile + to do~ / ~ing：「〜することは価値がある」
- It would be worthwhile to reassess the entire supply chain strategy given the recent disruptions.
→ 最近のサプライチェーンの混乱を踏まえ、戦略全体を見直す価値があるだろう。
動名詞を使った慣用表現
look forward to ~ing：「〜を楽しみにしている」（to は前置詞 → 後ろは動名詞）
- The entire team is looking forward to seeing the results of the new product launch.
→ チーム全体が新製品発売の結果を見るのを楽しみにしている。
※ to の後に動詞の原形（see）を置くのは誤り。
It is no use ~ing：「〜してもむだだ」
– It is no use trying to resolve the dispute without involving a professional mediator.
→ 専門の調停者を介さずに争いを解決しようとしてもむだだ。
There is no ~ing：「〜することはできない」（= It is impossible to~）
– Once confidential information has been shared publicly, there is no recalling it.
→ 機密情報がいったん公開されてしまえば、取り消すことはできない。
It goes without saying that~：「〜は言うまでもない」
– It goes without saying that investing in employee training leads to better business outcomes.
→ 従業員研修への投資がより良いビジネス成果につながることは、言うまでもない。
